Nerf

Nerf, or ‘non-expandable recreational foam’ was developed by Reyn Guyer and the Parker Brothers at the tail-end of the 1960s. Balls of various shapes and sizes made of Nerf were originally marketed as being safe for indoor use.

Nerf achieved increasing popularity with a range of Nerf Blasters that fire darts, bullets, rockets and other projectiles such as the Vortex. Zombie Strike, and Nitro. Parker Brothers and all its properties were acquired by Hasbro in 1991 when it purchased parent company Tonka.
